We are a multi-discipline consulting firm established in December 1979 by Paul A. Ferrari, P.E.
Over the years Mr. Ferrari has taken a great pride in the company's track record of providing its
clients with structural designs that meet their needs and are both economical and innovative.
Since its establishment, and the addition of Joseph F. Shields, CE/SE, Ferrari Shields &
Associates has continued to develop a strong reputation for providing quality structural designs
that are cost effective, efficiently constructed, and tailored to the specific project. FS&A has
developed productive professional working relationships with local building officials, industrial
facilities engineers, architects, developers, contractors and other design professionals.

Ferrari Shields & Associates project team consists of highly skilled and qualified individuals
who have earned post-graduate degrees in structural and civil engineering. They all take pride
in providing innovative and economical solutions that are functional, flexible and cost-effective.
This assures that FS&A recognizes the importance of working with all members of the
design/build team in completing the project smoothly and efficiently. All of our design and
construction drawings are produced with AutoCAD by extremely qualified personnel with
decades of experience in drafting and computer aided technology.

The staff, one of the largest in the Northern Nevada area, works closely together to concentrate
on specific requirements of the design to ensure that projects are completed on time and
within budget. Communication and coordination are enhanced with the use of the Internet to
link FS&A with our clients and other members of the staff. E-mail, and task-specific
spreadsheets have become critical parts of our methodization. This organization and efficient
use of technology directly results in the highest quality, consistency, and superior conformance
to a project schedule of any size.
